Getting Clean Call Notes From Every GoTo Connect Conversation
August 6, 2026
A financial advisor takes a client call through GoTo Connect between two other meetings. She's listening for a change in risk tolerance, jotting a note about a new grandchild, and trying to remember a beneficiary update all at once. By the time she hangs up, she has three lines of shorthand and no clear memory of which detail she promised to follow up on.
What Tends to Get Missed
- The exact numbers get lost. A client mentions a specific dollar amount or date, and by the time notes get written up that afternoon, the number is a guess.
- Side comments disappear. A passing mention of a new job, a health scare, or a kid heading to college never makes it into any record because it wasn't the point of the call.
- The call doesn't get logged at all. Writing up notes from a phone call that isn't already a habit gets pushed to later, and later never comes.
- Verbal commitments go untracked. "I'll send that form over" or "let's revisit this next quarter" gets said on the call and forgotten within the hour.
- Context resets before the next call. Without a written record, the next conversation starts from scratch instead of picking up where the last one left off.
How Quin Handles It
Once a GoTo Connect call ends and the recording is available, Quin downloads it and processes it the way it processes a video meeting: pulling out a summary, the key points discussed, and anything that reads like a next step. The process runs in the minutes after the call, not hours later, so the notes are ready before the details fade.
Picture a Tuesday where an advisor takes four calls back to back: a rollover question, a life insurance question, a prospect referral, and a quick check-in. Instead of holding four sets of details in her head or scrawling notes to decode later, she moves from call to call and lets Quin turn each recording into a summary afterward. By evening, all four are waiting for her.
A call is only as valuable as what gets remembered from it. A note that never gets written is a promise that never gets tracked, and a lost detail is a relationship that feels a little less personal next time.
Best Practices
- Keep call recording turned on in GoTo Connect. Quin can only process a call it can access, so recording needs to stay enabled at the account level.
- Say key details out loud on the call. Stating a number, date, or decision clearly makes it far more likely to land accurately in the summary.
- Check notes the same day. Reviewing the summary while the call is still fresh makes it easy to catch anything that needs a correction.
- Use notes to prep the next call. Pull up the summary from the last conversation before dialing the next one, instead of relying on memory.
Setting It Up
Getting this running takes an active GoTo Connect account with call recording enabled. Connect GoTo Connect under Settings, then Integrations, sign in with your GoTo Connect credentials, and grant access when prompted. Once the integration shows as active, notes start generating from the next recorded call.
