Slack

The Slack integration allows you to interact with Quin directly inside Slack, turning conversations and messages into tasks, CRM updates, and meeting notes without leaving your workspace. You can message Quin in a direct message, mention @Quin in any channel, or click the Quin icon to capture information and trigger actions instantly.

How to set it up

1. Go to Settings > Integrations
2. Click Add Integration
3. Select Slack from the list and click Connect
4. Follow the authentication prompts to connect your Slack workspace
5. Click Allow to grant Quin permission to access your Slack workspace

Adding Quin to Slack navigation

After connecting, add Quin to your Slack sidebar for quick access:

1. In Slack, go to Settings/Preferences > Navigation > App agents & assistants
2. Enable Show app agents and select Quin
3. Quin will appear in your Slack sidebar

Once enabled, you can interact with Quin in three ways:

• Send Quin a direct message
• Mention @Quin in any channel
• Click the Quin icon in the top right corner of Slack

What to expect

After connecting Slack, you can communicate with Quin directly in your Slack workspace just like you would in the Quin app. Quin responds to questions, captures notes from conversations, creates tasks, and updates your CRM based on Slack messages.

Examples of what you can do:

• Send Quin a message like "Create a follow-up task for the client meeting tomorrow" and Quin adds it to your task list
• Mention @Quin in a channel with "Add this to Sarah's contact record" and Quin updates your CRM
• Ask Quin "What's on my calendar today?" and get your schedule without leaving Slack

Using Quin in Slack channels

You can add Quin to specific Slack channels to capture important information discussed in team conversations. When Quin is in a channel, mention @Quin followed by your instruction, and Quin processes the request based on your Guidelines. Quin only responds when mentioned and doesn't read channel messages otherwise.

Disconnecting Slack

If you need to disconnect Slack:

1. Go to Settings > Integrations
2. Find the Slack integration
3. Click Disconnect
4. Confirm the disconnection

Disconnecting removes Quin from your Slack workspace. You can reconnect at any time.

Troubleshooting

Quin isn't responding to my messages in Slack

• Verify the Slack integration shows as "Active" in Settings > Integrations.
• Make sure you've added Quin to your Slack navigation following the steps above.
• If mentioning Quin in a channel, ensure Quin has been added to that specific channel.
• Try sending a direct message to Quin to test the connection.

I can't see Quin in my Slack sidebar

• Go to Settings/Preferences > Navigation > App agents & assistants in Slack.
• Enable Show app agents and select Quin from the list.
• Refresh Slack if Quin still doesn't appear.

Quin isn't creating tasks or updating my CRM from Slack

• Check that your other integrations (CRM, task management) are also connected in Settings > Integrations.
• Verify your Guidelines include instructions for the actions you want Quin to take.
• Be specific in your requests to Quin (for example, "Create a task in Asana" rather than just "make a task").

Quin mentioned it can't access certain information

• Some information requires specific integrations to be connected (calendar, CRM, email).
• Check Settings > Integrations to ensure all necessary tools are connected.
• Verify you have appropriate permissions in those connected tools.
