Asset-Map

The Asset-Map integration connects your household and financial planning records with Quin, so meeting notes, household details, and financial instruments stay current without manual entry. Quin can search and retrieve household details, manage household members, and track income, assets, liabilities, and insurance instruments directly through conversation.

Before you begin

• You must have an active Asset-Map account
• Your calendar must be connected to Quin (connect your calendar)
• Notetaker must be enabled in Notetaker settings to capture meeting notes automatically

How to set it up

1. Go to Settings > Integrations
2. Select Asset-Map from the list of available integrations
3. Enter your Asset-Map API key when prompted
4. Click Connect

You can use Guidelines to control what Quin logs to Asset-Map after meetings. Guidelines are instructions that tell Quin how to process your meetings, like "Always add a note to the household record after client calls" or "Flag any new financial instrument mentioned during a meeting."

What to expect

After connecting Asset-Map, Quin can search for households by name and pull up full details, including members and instruments, whenever you ask. Household records themselves are read-only through Quin, so new households still need to be created directly in Asset-Map. Once a household exists, Quin can add, update, or remove household members and financial instruments on your behalf, and will always confirm with you before deleting anything.

Managing household members

Quin can add new members to an existing household, update member details, or remove a member when you ask. Each member requires a category, such as primary, spouse, or child, along with a member type. Before Quin removes a member, it confirms the action with you to avoid accidental deletions.

Managing financial instruments

Instruments cover income, assets, liabilities, and insurance tied to a household. Quin can search existing instruments, add new ones with the required details, update them as circumstances change, and remove them when they no longer apply. As with household members, Quin confirms with you before deleting an instrument.

Troubleshooting

Quin can't find a household in Asset-Map

• Verify the household name or member name matches what's in Asset-Map
• Try searching by a specific member's name if the household name doesn't return a match

Quin won't create or update a household record directly

• This is expected — Asset-Map's API doesn't support creating, updating, or deleting households directly
• Create or edit the household in Asset-Map, then ask Quin to search for it again

Adding a household member or instrument isn't working

• Confirm you've specified the household the member or instrument belongs to
• Check that required details are included, such as category and member type for members, or instrument type, category, name, source, and amount for instruments

Quin isn't logging notes to Asset-Map after meetings

• Confirm your Asset-Map integration is connected under Settings > Integrations
• Make sure Notetaker was active for the meeting

My Asset-Map connection is showing as disconnected

• Re-authenticate by returning to Settings > Integrations and reconnecting Asset-Map
• API keys can expire or be revoked — generate a new one in your Asset-Map account if needed
